Ch 2 :Welcome Aboard, Part 1: Sensation started to return to her body, and it was not a very welcome one.  She hurt all over, and her head ringing like it was didn't help the situation.  What had happened?  Last she remembered she'd been in the armory, her station while the ship was in combat, and there had been heavy impact and a loud boom, all the glass over the weapons had shattered and she had reflexively curled up to try and protect herself.  She had been convinced she was going to die, figuring the explosion to have been a mine or rail-gun shot.  So what was going on? Was this some kind of life after death? And if so, why did it hurt?

'Damn it why am I crying?' Ayanio asked herself as she sat thinking in her room. She knew that there was a reason for the tears streaming down her face, but the only thing she could think about was the next day, which was Valentine's Day.
